Is it really free?
Yes. Making a pal and the whole relationship — chat, memory, the glass box — is free, forever. You only pay your own AI provider for usage, and optionally pal.fun Plus if you want the skills marketplace.
What does “bring your own key” mean?
Your pal thinks using an AI model. You connect your own API key from the provider, so the AI runs under your account — you’re in control, and we’re never standing between you and the model. Setup takes a minute; we’ll point you to the right page.
How much does the AI actually cost me?
You pay your provider directly for what your pal uses — it depends on which model you choose and how much you chat. You can set spending limits in your provider’s dashboard, and check your key status anytime in settings.
Is my data private?
Yes. We encrypt your key, we don’t train on your conversations, we don’t sell your data, and there are no ads. And the glass box means you can read everything your pal knows about you — nothing’s hidden, by design.
What’s the difference between Free and Plus?
Free is the whole relationship — a pal who remembers you, and the glass box. pal.fun Plus ($9/mo or $90/yr) unlocks the skills marketplace — calendar, library, and every skill — across all of your pals.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — cancel Plus in one click from settings. You keep Plus through the period you’ve paid for, then drop back to Free. Your pal and everything they remember stay with you.
